Patuxent Leadership Paddle–Sold Out!
April 17-19, Patuxent River—Leadership Themed
The Patuxent is the perfect venue to discuss the next generation of environmental leaders, given the history of excellent leadership in attempting the massive job of cleaning up the river, including that of Senator Bernie Fowler, Walter Boynton, scientist, and Fred Tutman, Patuxent Riverkeeper, all of whom will participate in part this trip. Prince George’s County Schools CEO, Kevin Maxwell, is also a pivotal leader for the Patuxent, and he and his wife Nancy will join us. Georgia Sorenson, a new member of our team and national expert on leadership development will help lead evening campfire discussions. The Patuxent has a challenging watershed, with lots of people, but when you reach tidewater at Jug Bay, it becomes a sleepy, historic waterway with lots to celebrate. Fred, who is partnering on this trip, knows the magic of the river, and suggests paddling between Benedict and Jug Bay, camping one night at the Riverkeeper’s office and yard at Nottingham, and the other TBD, for a total distance of 24 miles. Maximum capacity is 18 people.
