Envisioning Clean Water and Healthy Communities: A Conversation with Patuxent Riverkeeper Fred Tutman
Riverkeeper Fred Tutman speaks for the water. Often, his canoe is his office as he patrols Maryland’s Patuxent River. Tutman has served as the Patuxent Riverkeeper since leaving law school in 2004. A tireless advocate for the river, he grew up along its banks as did seven generations of his family before him. Since then, Tutman has dedicated his life to protecting the 110-mile river, winning awards and accolades for his efforts to protect and restore clean water in the Patuxent and its connected ecosystem. In his vigilance on behalf of the Patuxent, Fred has come to see the relationship between people and our waterways as a shared opportunity for stewardship and community even as he has become the leader of a growing watershed movement. Host Kate Ebner and Fred Tutman invite you to join them in exploring Fred’s vision of clean water and healthy communities. Listen to it online
